Subject: Apology letter for interview
Dear Mr. Mark
I am writing this letter to apologize for not attending the interview scheduled on 23rd July 2012. I have applied for the post of Metallurgical Engineer in your esteemed corporation as per the vacancy published in the London Times dated 10th June 2012. My interview was schedule to be held on 23rd July but I fell seriously ill on that particular day. I was suffering from intense fever and headache as a result I could attend the formal interview session scheduled. I have prepared very hard for the interview but unfortunately could not stand up from my bed on that particular day because of intense weakness due to high fever. I would request you to kindly give me another chance and arrange another date for the interview session.
Hope that you will understand my difficult situation and forgive me this time. I promise you that I will definitely attend the next round of interview for which you will summon me. I will eagerly wait for a positive reply from your side. Once again I really apologize for the inconvenience caused.
