I write this letter to thank you for expressing your sympathy to us for the untoward accident my brother figured in.  Your sincere letter gave me a feeling of hope and helped ease the sadness I was feeling over John’s condition.

Thank you for sharing kind words to us.  John was cheered up by your letter, too.  He began smiling and feeling more optimistic about recovering from his condition after reading the verses in the bible that you wrote in your letter.  Thank you for reminding us that we have so many friends we can count on to help us in this time of hardship and need.  I cannot thank you enough for also offering to give us financial support to help us pay the hospital bills.

May the Lord repay your kindness a hundredfold.
