Dear Mr. Lambert,

I submitted an application for your scholarship and I would like to appeal for your approval.  I received a letter recently informing me that I was not selected for the scholarship but I am hoping that you would reconsider my application.

I believe that I have the academic excellence required by your organization for its scholars.  I have regularly maintained exceptional grades in my undergraduate degree and I am determined to take up graduate studies to be able to pursue a career as a professor in a local university.  I am truly financially incapable of funding my graduate education.

I hope I will be given a chance to discuss to you how qualified I am for the scholarship.  I have attached additional recommendation letters for you review.
