Dear Mary,

How are you doing?  I hope everything is fine, including your work.

I wanted to say goodbye to you as I will be leaving for Australia next week.  I will be staying there two months for a short course which my company has sent me to attend.  As such, I will miss our monthly get-together with friends until I get back.  It would have been great to be travelling to Australia with you!  I remember one conversation we had when we were still in college.  We really wished to visit Australia together.  I will write to you every week to share with you the places I have visited and how true our dreams about the place are.
