Student Loans Hardship Letter

One way to help you settle your payments for a student loan is by writing a hardship letter. Here is an example of a student’s loan hardship letter.

Name: John Alberts

Address: 77 Yak St., Montgomery, AL

Creditor: Yale University Student Loan Billing

Account no.: 122345-88

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to explain my delinquency in paying my loan due last month. My delinquency was caused by my parent’s delay of sending me money. There delay was caused by my father’s ill health, which led our family into financial instability.

I am a straight A student for the past two years and I don’t want to lose every chance for a good future with your prestigious university. I would gladly appreciate it if you could help me modify my student’s loan for this semester.

Please contact me if you want to discuss my loan’s payments plans. Thank you and Godspeed.

Respectfully,

John Alberts
